Hosting Surface Unsigned Festival 8th feb - 20th march

The Surface Unsigned Festival is the only national live music event that brings unsigned bands and artists to the attention of all aspects of the music industry. The Surface Unsigned Festival is the largest event of its kind and is a major event in the unsigned music calendar.

Surface Unsigned is working in association with Marshall, Kerrang, Zildjian, Tama, Evans, Planet Waves, Ashdown, D’addario, PMT, Univibe Audio, Music Live, Entertainment Distribution Company (EDC), Shure Distribution, Surface Digital, Backstreet Merch and Oxjam to develop alternative ways for bands to gain exposure and develop their fan base.

In 2009 events will be held in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and London making Surface Unsigned the biggest event of its kind. In 2009 there will be over 350 nights of live music involving over 1,200 bands from across the UK. For bands that reach the final stages of the Festival, both Surface Unsigned and our sponsors will award the best bands and musicians with Industry Showcases, Recording and Production Deals, Professional Photo Shoots, Cash, Endorsements and much more.

The Surface Unsigned National Showcase 2009 will be a 2-day Festival held at the popular O2-complex in London. The IndigO2 at the O2-complex has a flexible capacity of 2,400 and has seen acts such as Jools Holland, Timbaland, Joss Stone, Ne-Yo, Usher, Estelle, T-Pain and Busta Rhymes to name a few. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team and be part of a progressive company that own The Cooler live music venue in Park Street & bar Salt in North Street, Bedminster, both close to the vibrant town centre in Bristol.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a real passion for good music, exceptional food and customer service. You may already be working within a similar environment or keen to take on a role that allows you to progress your skills & talents. Your personality, people skills and commitment to service will be the defining factors.

bar Salt offers a relaxed atmosphere and good food 7 days a week, has a popular and stylish sun terrace for relaxed alfresco dining and drinking. At night we are a 2.00AM popular music venue.

Full & Part time hours available are between 16 to 42 hours per week, rates of pay are competive and full training will be provided.

Following an extensive major refurbishment with new lighting and a much admired £80k state of the art sound system that can accommodate the very best of live bands the ever popular Cooler is back to rock!

An unpretentious and friendly venue that hosts 3 regular club nights each week. Every Thursday Student Club pulp & Deep fried Indie with DJ Ricardo, Friday Espionage with DJ Fat Paul and Saturday the best Indie Alternative night in Bristol Klub Kute hosted by Dj George of the famous Kandi Club.

There are also regular live band music nights as well as the club nights which also often include a popular band act in their line up, so why not pop along and catch a live act then hit the dance floor.
